We’ll be happy to limit our involvement to grinding, but we prefer to finish the job for you by replacing the depleted earth with sod or nutritious soil and seed to get you started along the path to a green lawn. Stump assessment
John checks the stump diameter, wood hardness, and proximity to underground utilities, irrigation, or structures before grinding begins.
Utility check
PA One Call (811) is used to confirm no underground utilities are in the grinding path. This is a required step before any ground-disturbing work.
Grind below grade
The stump grinder works through the stump in passes, grinding it down 6–12 inches below the surface — deep enough to plant grass or lay sod over.
Chip cleanup
Wood chips are raked up and either hauled away or spread as mulch in a nearby bed — your choice. The area is left clean and level.
